For a long time, I did not fully understand that what was happening to me was abuse. I knew I was afraid and that I wanted to get away, but I had grown up thinking this was normal. I place the turning point in February 2024, when I was hospitalized against my wishes and began talking more openly about what home had been like. Other adults at the hospital told me that what I was describing was abuse. That helped me begin to name what I had lived through.

I am Lucas Mora. This chapter brings together my present recollection and earlier messages. It does not turn those messages into clinical records or suggest that feeling clearer proves the cause of every memory difficulty. I want to explain the change in how I understand my life while being specific about what I know and what remains a question.

I experienced that period as being silenced. During treatment, I felt emotionally dulled and had difficulty accessing and making sense of parts of what I had lived through. I believe medication contributed to that experience. I had also associated my memory difficulties with a snowboarding head injury.

Recognizing the pattern in February 2024, at eighteen

I was born in May 2005. I was eighteen in February and March 2024, not nineteen. I would turn nineteen that May. The distinction matters because I am trying to put this history into a timeline that does not depend on an incorrect age.

Recognizing a pattern as abuse was different from being frightened, trying to protect myself, or telling someone part of what had happened. I had done those things earlier. My memories of January 4, 2021 and the child protection involvement that followed do not disappear because I describe a later moment of understanding. I could want to escape and still struggle to name the life I had grown up inside.

I remember other adults at the hospital responding to what I described in February 2024 and helping me see it differently. I am not identifying them as clinicians because I have not established their roles. This is the turning point I remember, not a clinical finding reproduced from a hospital chart. [E05]

The earlier child protection history

The 2019 messages I connect to that period

The move I was planning and the call I remember

In early February 2024, I remember telling my parents that I intended to move out by my birthday in May. I wanted time to keep building my business and prepare to support myself. The New Jersey Certificate of Formation records FXXK AGENCY LLC with an effective filing date of February 21, 2024 and a business purpose of social media marketing. That record does not establish when I was admitted to hospital or the order of events within February. The plan to leave by May is not proof that I moved on that date. [E07]

I remember a later night, around 1 a.m., when I was working on my business and my mother called police. My recollection is that she described me as bipolar, manic, suicidal, or a threat to others. I dispute that description of me during that incident. I felt the response reinforced my parents' account and left me unheard. [E05]

The work was part of a plan for independence. I had been learning and discussing online work since middle school, long before this effort to formalize a business. I felt my ambition was being interpreted as a symptom instead of a plan to support myself and leave home.

The bank encounter is the trigger I now identify for speaking publicly in 2024. I remember police being called while I was trying to open my LLC’s bank account. Its exact date and relationship to the filing date still need a dated record. I am not treating it as the same event as the separate nighttime police call simply because both belong to my account of that period.

I say I am trying to locate a recording from my room. Neither that recording nor the underlying call is supplied with this update, so there is no transcript of that night here. The account of the call and the hospitalization that followed is my recollection. The March messages provide a separate dated record of what I was saying afterward. [E03]

Different admissions, not one uninterrupted treatment history

After the physical abuse I describe ended in 2021, I remember the conflict continuing through accusations about my mental health, police calls, further hospitalizations, and treatment I often felt I had little control over. I disputed descriptions of me as bipolar or manic and felt that my account of what was happening at home was not being heard.

Across those years, I recall approximately eight hospitalizations, often lasting roughly two to six weeks. I also remember being restrained and injected during some admissions when I refused medication. I am not attaching an invented date, facility, medication, dose, or clinical reason to those memories. The supplied material does not contain the clinical records needed to establish those details.

The first two admissions after January 4, 2021 were separate stays. I remember refusing medication during them. My broader account refers to medication exposure beginning around 2021, but I have not reconciled every prescription, refusal, or admission. That should not be rewritten as a precisely documented medication regimen beginning on January 4 and continuing without interruption.

I describe a later period after the final 2024 hospitalization when I took two psychiatric medications for approximately two years. I experienced the doses as very strong. My latest account places the last admission in June 2024 and its duration at approximately five to six weeks. Exact admission and discharge dates remain unconfirmed. That account is separate from the two admissions I describe after January 4, 2021. [E05]

I remember receiving treatment and medication against my wishes. I felt that it became harder to keep explaining what had happened at home while I was struggling to feel emotionally present and make sense of my memories. This is the effect I experienced on my ability to tell my story, not a finding about the medical grounds for every admission or treatment decision.

The three hospitalizations I remember in 2024

My recollection is that I was hospitalized three times in 2024: first in February, then in May, and again in June. I was eighteen during the February admission and turned nineteen in May. Without an exact May admission date, I am not saying whether that stay began before or after my birthday. These are three admissions that year, not the two admissions from January 2021 and not the later police events I describe in 2026. [E05]

I remember the June stay lasting approximately five to six weeks. I was sent roughly three and a half hours from home, the farthest away I remember being sent. While I was trying to build my business and explain what was happening to me, I felt cut off from my work and from being heard.

This is the fuller sequence I am recording on October 2, 2026. Earlier summaries described the final stay as about a month to five weeks. I now remember approximately five to six weeks, but I am not supplying exact admission or discharge dates, a facility name, or treatment records to establish them. The filing date for my company does not establish the order of the hospital and business events within February.

  • February 2024: the first hospitalization I remember that year.
  • May 2024: the second hospitalization I remember that year.
  • June 2024: the third hospitalization I remember that year, lasting approximately five to six weeks and roughly three and a half hours from home.

The June treatment I remember

During that June stay, I remember refusing medication for the first two weeks. Then, on three mornings, I remember being forcibly woken, restrained, and injected. After that, I complied and began taking the medication. I did not feel I had a choice.

I am describing what I remember experiencing. I have not supplied a clinical record for those mornings, and I am not identifying a medication, dose, staff member, or clinical rationale. My account is not a legal, medical, or institutional finding about that treatment.

The threats involving lawyers, police, and a restraining order, followed by what I experienced in treatment, are why I stopped speaking out. That is how I understand the silence that followed. I felt that continuing to explain myself could lead to more pressure while I was already trying to hold onto my work and a future outside home.

Memory, emotional dulling, and the snowboarding injury

Feeling emotionally dulled was not only about having trouble recalling a date. I struggled to access and make sense of experiences I wanted to explain. For years, I associated my memory difficulties with hitting my head while snowboarding around 2021. I am now questioning how medication may also have affected how I felt and what I could recall.

The timing of that injury is approximate, and I am not supplying a diagnosis or establishing its effects. My earlier explanation and the questions I have now are parts of how I have tried to understand myself. Neither the old messages nor my present feeling of clarity can establish a medical cause.

In my October 1 account, I wrote the passage below. The same account explains that I cannot medically prove what caused the memory problems or state my parents' intentions as fact. [E05]

For years, I believed I had forgotten much of the abuse and trauma because I hit my head snowboarding. Since coming off the medication, I feel clearer minded and memories I thought were gone have returned.

The supervised reduction I describe in 2026

During 2026, I say a clinician supervised a gradual reduction in my medication. I remember the process taking approximately six months, with changes roughly every two weeks. As that happened, and since coming off the medications described here, I have felt clearer and more emotionally present. Memories and feelings I had struggled to access have become more vivid. Revisiting old messages has also helped me place parts of my story in time.

I associate the medication with losing access to memories of the abuse. I went quiet. After I stopped taking it, I felt those memories returning and began speaking publicly again. When I describe stopping here, I mean the supervised reduction I have described, not an abrupt or unsupervised decision to discontinue treatment.

I believe my parents misrepresented my mental health and that those descriptions contributed to me being hospitalized, medicated, and disbelieved. I experienced that as another way of being silenced. I cannot establish from these messages what caused my memory difficulties or what another person intended. What I can describe is how I felt then, what I remember now, and why I am returning to a fuller account after earlier attempts to speak.

This is not a claim that my parents knowingly selected medication to erase memories. It is also not a claim that stopping medication verifies every recollection. I am describing my experience of treatment and the conduct I believe contributed to it, while leaving the medical questions open. [E05]

The later personal disclosure I am sharing now

Returning to a story I had already tried to tell

My attempt to speak out in 2024 stalled. In 2026, I began publicly putting the fuller story together, reconnecting my memories with older messages and sharing the life I had built since leaving.

I had made earlier disclosures, and my account also describes attempts to speak in 2023. The March 2024 exchange with Diana Galvis Patino includes my direct statements about abuse, work, and treatment. The proposed civil restraints agreement and the pressure I describe around signing it belong to that same period. I felt unable to keep telling the story then, but that does not mean there had been no earlier attempt.

The website's existing log records its first publication on September 24, 2026. The expanded source chapters and my later personal disclosure were recorded on October 1. Those are dates in the history of telling the story, not the dates when every event happened or when I first remembered it. This revision connects those stages rather than describing them all as happening today.

The older conversations help me locate statements I made and responses I received at particular times. They do not independently establish every recollection that has become clearer to me. I can explain what the messages mean to me without asking them to prove more than they show.

Writing on October 2, 2026, I am finding that reviewing messages from the past week is bringing back more of what I remember. I am recording those memories alongside the messages and records I have found.

What I was told later, and what I was already saying in March 2024

I report that five clinicians across two practices worked with me over six months and told me, one day before I published this website, that the bipolar diagnosis was not correct and identified PTSD and ADHD instead. That is what I say I was told and diagnosed with. This website is not independently confirming the assessment or ruling out every earlier episode.

The March 2024 messages already show me disputing the bipolar diagnosis and discussing trauma and PTSD. Diana Galvis Patino, the aunt I identify in that exchange, responded that I needed professional help whatever the diagnosis was. The visible header says Diana Galvis, and I previously referred to her as Diana Patino. Those messages record what we said, not an assessment by this website. The later reassessment was significant to me, but it was not the first time I had heard or spoken about trauma and PTSD. [E03]

I am also preserving the historical context that I expressed severe distress and thoughts about not continuing to live in that early March exchange. Those were historical messages, not a statement about my present intentions. They belong beside Diana's stated concern for me, rather than being removed to make the conversation appear simpler.

Finding a life I can be present for

Feeling clearer has mattered beyond being able to tell a painful story. I describe feeling more love for Samara, my friends, the family I found, my work, and the everyday life I am building in Chicago. I want this account to explain what those changes mean to me without reducing my life to a medication history.

The early messages about online work are another part of the same life. While I was afraid at home, I was also learning, making things, and trying to build independence. Placing those records beside the family messages helps me see more of the person I was, not only what happened to me.

I have built a career, a business, a life, and a future. The work was part of how I built a way forward. I Found My Way Home.

This is a personal treatment experience, not medical advice. Medication changes should be discussed with a qualified prescriber. The National Institute of Mental Health provides general information about mental health medications; that guidance does not verify my diagnosis, memory changes, or account of my parents.

The sequence I remember

Chronology

These entries reflect my account. Approximate dates and durations are identified.

  1. January 2021

Two separate admissions followed the January 4 incident, interrupted by the brief return home. They are not part of the three admissions I describe in 2024.

  2. February 2024

The first hospitalization I remember that year, at eighteen. The exact date and order relative to the business filing are not established.

  3. May 2024

The second hospitalization I remember that year. I turned nineteen in May, but the admission date relative to my birthday remains unconfirmed.

  4. June 2024

The third hospitalization I remember that year, approximately five to six weeks and roughly three and a half hours away. I describe two weeks refusing medication, followed by three mornings of restraint and injections before complying.

  5. During 2026

I describe a clinician supervised gradual medication reduction over approximately six months, followed by feeling clearer and returning to my public account.

  6. October 2, 2026

I recorded the expanded three-admission sequence and described more memories returning while reviewing messages. This is a recollection-update date, not an incident date or clinical finding.

About this account

A note on accuracy

My present account is source E05. The March messages in E03 record statements made at that time, not clinical findings. No clinical chart or reconciled medication history is supplied with this update. Dates, causes, diagnoses, and other people's intentions are qualified where they remain uncertain. The source index separates those limits from what the messages visibly show.
