Adriana Galvis: Family Messages and the Questions I Still Have
My account of messages with my aunt, Adriana Galvis: discussing paid digital work at fourteen, asking for advice, and the October 2019 conversation I connect to being hurt at home. Her support and the replies I experienced as dismissive belong in the same record.
Adriana Galvis is my aunt, my mother's sister. I am writing about her here because my experience of trying to be heard did not involve only my parents. It also involved what I remember relatives saying to me, what I was later told they knew, and how they responded when I shared my story publicly.
The August and October 2019 conversations show different parts of the same period in my life. I was a fourteen year old asking about work and trying to build skills. I also remember being frightened at home. I do not want either part to disappear when I tell the other.
The new material includes August and October 2019 messages, in addition to the separate December outing exchange previously supplied. They let me place more of the story in time. Later information about a conversation with my grandmother came through the anonymous contributor; my requests for comment and report of being blocked remain my own update, not additions to her interview.
What I remember happening in 2019
My recollection: before the October 10, 2019 exchange, I remember my father physically and sexually abusing me. I put books in my pants to protect myself from the belt. I remember him removing the books, continuing to hit me, touching me inappropriately, and sending me to my room. I remember Adriana Galvis messaging me a few minutes later. The closeness in time mattered to me: I had just been hurt, and then a relative reached out.
The October 10 messages now supplied show her checking on me and offering to listen, then criticizing how I was behaving at school and at home. Reading my short answers brings back how I felt after being sent to my room. I experienced parts of the exchange as making me the problem. Her repeated offers of support are also in the record. [E02]
I inferred that my mother had told Adriana what my father had done. I wondered whether my mother had reached out because she was frightened by how badly he had hurt me. I did not hear that conversation, and I cannot establish from the timing alone what my mother said, whether she contacted Adriana, or what either of them was thinking.
I remember the preceding conversation with Adriana as five days earlier and unrelated to what was happening at home. I am keeping that interval attributed to my memory. The reviewed October 10 stills show the check-in and a reference back to a smoking discussion, not an independent record of what happened before I went to my room.
August 2019: asking for advice about online work
Before the October conversation, an August 24, 2019 exchange shows me asking about a clothing company that had approached me on Instagram. At 14, I described an offer requiring $30 per month for three months, clothing photographs and a skateboarding edit, with a possible later payment of at least $500 monthly. I was asking about a proposal, not showing that I had received that sponsorship or payment. [E01]
In that exchange I wrote, “I'm working with another account on Instagram that pays me $100 a month for helping run their page”. This is what I was already writing about at fourteen. I separately mentioned about $150 a month cutting grass. Those are my statements in the messages, not payment receipts or bank records, and lawn work was not digital income.
In that conversation, I told Adriana Galvis my parents knew about the work. That was not true. I was afraid they would take my money, and I did not know how to tell them. That is my present clarification, not a change to the old messages. The original statement about their approval remains visible in the reviewed excerpt; payment account details are omitted for privacy. The screenshot does not independently establish that my parents knew.
The other participant encouraged me to research the company beyond its Instagram page and show that information to my parents. That was helpful advice. It belongs in this account alongside the later exchange I experienced as dismissive. I identify both conversations as being with Adriana; the displayed account name is Instagram User.
I was born in May 2005, so I was fourteen that August. I remember getting a phone and starting to explore Instagram around 2018 or 2019; the exact account creation date remains approximate. This dated message records me talking about paid page management years before the later arguments about scamming. It does not turn a proposed sponsorship into income or establish an audited total of what I earned.

October 10, 2019: the exchange I identify as being with Adriana Galvis
These are among the earliest surviving messages I have found from the period I am describing. I identify the other person as my aunt Adriana. I remember this exchange as happening after my father hurt me and sent me to my room. Reading my short replies now brings that feeling back. The messages show that she checked on me, offered to listen, and later criticized my behavior. They do not explain what she knew or why she contacted me. [E02]
She asked “What's upppp” and “Wha are you doing?” I answered “Nothing.” She asked whether everything was okay and whether I was sure; I answered “Yeah.” She wrote that she was there if I wanted someone to listen. The conversation then referred back to a smoking discussion and showed a video call, a missed call, and a request to call back. I remember the preceding discussion as October 5, five days earlier. The supplied stills show the call indicators, not the content of a call.
Later I wrote, “No actually. You're grown up and do that. I'm still a kid and can change.” The subsequent replies criticized my behavior at school and home, discussed respecting my parents and earning freedom, said she did not want me to feel attacked, described her own parent as strict, and offered support again. I want readers to see that full mix, not only the criticism or only the comforting opening.
In the situation I remember, I needed someone to ask what had happened to me. Reading that I needed to change how I acted at school and home felt as though my behavior was the explanation for my pain. That is why I experienced this as dismissal, even though she offered to listen and later offered support again. The messages do not describe the physical or sexual abuse I recall or establish what Adriana knew about it.
I first had a phone and used Instagram around middle school, as I remember it. These surviving messages do not mark the beginning of what happened to me, and they do not independently prove a physical incident. My memory of being hurt, the short interval I recall, and my suspicion that my mother told her sister are separate from the words visible in the exchange.

What I was later told about her awareness
Someone later spoke to me and said Adriana was aware of what was happening around that time. That is information reported to me by another person, rather than a conversation between Adriana and my mother that I witnessed. I have not supplied that person's exact words or a dated statement here.
Taken together with my memory of how she spoke to me, that report reinforced my feeling that the adults around me were treating my response as the problem instead of addressing the way I was being hurt. That feeling is part of why I am returning to this period now. It does not let me state precisely what Adriana knew, when she learned it, or from whom.
What I mean by before January 4, 2021
When I say this was before the abuse was reported, I mean before the January 4, 2021 incident described elsewhere on this website. I am not saying that nobody had ever heard about my experiences before that date. My point is that I remember being hurt at home in 2019, before the incident and hospitalizations that later became a central part of my account.
The newly supplied exchange displays October 10, 2019. That is the conversation I now connect to being sent to my room. The separate December 8, 2019 outing screenshot is about thirteen months before January 4, 2021, and does not date that physical incident. Neither date should be described as exactly two years before January 2021.
The January account explains the later sequence, including two hospital admissions and child protection involvement after the second admission. This earlier recollection adds context to my description of childhood. The outing messages reproduced here do not independently document a beating or prove that Adriana knew about one.
Why I place recognizing the pattern of abuse later, in February 2024
The messages visible in the supplied screenshot
I identify the conversation shown below as a conversation with Adriana Galvis. The screenshot itself displays the account label “Instagram User,” not her name. It includes December 8, 2019 date dividers, questions about an outing, my replies, and a January 2, 2020 divider near the bottom. The unavailable story and the clipped message below the final divider cannot be reconstructed from this image.
The visible exchange includes the questions “Cool! Who did you go with??” and “What do you mean? How'd you get there then?” I answered “No one,” then “Oh,” “Well,” and “My dad.” Later I answered “Good” and wrote “I wish I had someone to record.” I have transcribed the readable messages below, keeping interface notices separate from the messages people sent.
This December image is separate from the October support-and-criticism exchange now shown in E02. The screenshot's 2:41 status-bar display is not a confirmed sending time for any message, and the “Instagram User” label alone does not establish why an account appears that way.
The concern I was told she expressed to my grandmother
The anonymous contributor who came forward about my father told me that Adriana had said to my maternal grandmother, Vilma Galvis, that she was not comfortable with my father around her daughter. Vilma is my mother's mother. This identifies who relayed the information to me and who I understand was part of the reported conversation.
I asked Adriana about what I had been told. As of this update, I had not received a substantive response, and I report that she subsequently blocked me. I felt hurt and unsupported. I do not know why she blocked me, and that action does not establish what she knew, what she intended, or whether the reported statement was accurate. [E06]
I did not personally hear Adriana say this to my grandmother. I do not have the exact date or a direct transcript of that conversation. The reported concern matters to me, but it does not establish that anything happened to her daughter. I am keeping her daughter's identity and personal information out of this account.
This is also distinct from the contributor's description of her own mother speaking with my grandmother about the contributor's experiences and my situation. I do not want those two reported conversations, or the people taking part in them, to become merged into one account.
Read the family-response context alongside the contributor's account
Adriana Galvis and Diana Galvis Patino are different people
The March 2024 messages in the new chapter are with a different aunt, whom I identify as Diana Galvis Patino. Their visible header says Diana Galvis, and I previously referred to her as Diana Patino. That is my identification of the same person, not independent verification of a legal name. She is not Adriana Galvis, whom I identify in the 2019 exchanges. Diana's replies about court, my computer, hospitalizations, and business belong alongside that March conversation. [E03]
Diana replied to my direct disclosure of abuse by offering to pay for an Uber to court and telling me not to miss it. In my recollection, that was court where my parents were seeking a restraining order against me, not a ride to report abuse. I experienced the response as pressure to be silenced. The screenshot records my disclosure and her reply; it does not independently establish the court's purpose or her motives. My historical distress and her stated concern for my wellbeing remain part of the surrounding record.
I felt silenced by both of my aunts, Adriana Galvis and Diana Galvis Patino, at times when I needed adults to listen to me. They are both my mother's sisters, but their words belong to different conversations. Adriana gave me business advice in August 2019 and criticized my behavior in the separate October exchange. In March 2024, Diana received my direct messages about abuse and responded in ways that hurt me. Later, she praised my knowledge and suggested an office for my business. My assessment does not require erasing any of those differences.

My requests for comment and what happened afterward
I requested comment from Adriana on the day the anonymous contributor came forward, and I contacted her again in the days afterward. I saw read indicators on my messages, but I did not receive a reply. These are the sequence and interface indicators I remember; I have not established exact calendar dates or supplied the wording of those requests on this page.
After I posted about the situation, I found that she had blocked me. She had been following me before that. I experienced the block as immediate after my post. At the time of this update, I still had not received a comment from her about my account or the contributor's account.
I felt shut out. Having asked for a response, I wanted to understand the difference between the concern I had been told she expressed privately and the absence of a response to me. I do not know why Adriana blocked me. A read indicator, an unanswered message, and a block do not establish her motives or prove that she supports abuse or knew about particular incidents.
The announcement graphic below records how I expressed my reaction. Its question about other people being silenced is my concern, not evidence that additional victims exist or that Adriana silenced them. The graphic is something I published about my experience, not an independent record of her actions.
Keeping the record open to clarification
I want the record to show what I experienced, what I was told, and what I still cannot establish. I am not asking readers to contact, pressure, or target Adriana or anyone else in my family. If someone has firsthand information they want to share, the website offers a private submission process rather than automatic public posting.
If additional messages, dates, or a response become available, I can add them with their source and correct the timeline where necessary. The update history records when material is added to the website separately from when an event happened. That distinction matters especially here, where a visible date in one conversation does not date every memory described on this page.

About this account
A note on accuracy
This is my personal account, not an independent investigation or an official biography of Adriana Galvis. I identify the screenshot's other participant as my aunt. The images show messages and date labels, but do not themselves identify her by name, establish her knowledge of abuse, or document the physical and sexual abuse I remember.
The reported concern to my grandmother comes through the anonymous contributor. My explanation of the timing in 2019 and my interpretation of the family's responses remain distinct from what the published image actually shows. Exact dates and wording that are not available have not been invented.
Only readable text is transcribed below. Missing stories and cropped messages remain missing. Reviewed excerpts preserve the original message wording around clearly labeled privacy redactions, including the August statement about parental approval that I now say was untrue. My announcement graphic expresses my response and does not independently verify it.
